The draw ceremony for the group stage of the African Confederation Cup took place today, Monday, in Johannesburg, South Africa, resulting in an all-Egyptian clash between Zamalek and Al-Masry Al-Portsaid in a strong group.

The draw results yielded the following groups:

Group A: Algerian CR Belouizdad – Malian Djoliba – Moroccan Olympique Safi – Ivorian San Pedro.

Group B: Moroccan Wydad – Congolese Maniema Union – Tanzanian Azam – Kenyan Nairobi United.

Group C: Algerian Chabab Belouizdad – South African Stellenbosch – Congolese Otoho – Tanzanian Singida Black Stars.

Group D: Egyptian Zamalek – Al-Masry Al-Portsaid – South African Kaizer Chiefs – Zambian Zesco United.

Group D is considered one of the strongest groups in the tournament, given the presence of two Egyptian teams alongside two heavyweight opponents from the southern part of the continent.

The group stage competitions are set to kick off during the current month of November, as Zamalek aims to restore its continental glory, while Al-Masry aspires to continue its strong performances in African competitions.
